We are bombarded with negative and confusing messages about our bodies, dieting, weight loss, and the “obesity epidemic.” Many people, women and men, internalize multiple shaming and self-harming beliefs, leading to frustrated attempts at continued dieting, weight cycling, binge eating, emotional eating, poor nutrition and health, and full-blown eating disorders.
